“To fulfill our biblical mandate to provide for the physical needs of people and proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ, bringing hope to the hopeless.”The World Opportunities vision
This vision is foundational. While we realize the tremendous importance of meeting physical needs, we also recognize the surpassing value of providing for deeper, spiritual needs. We believe that true and lasting hope can only be found through a genuine, intimate relationship with Jesus Christ.
The logo
To reinforce this vision, World Opportunities has also adopted a new logo. Our new logo is a globe containing two hands. The right hand holds up a red cross, symbolizing Christ’s victory over sin and the medical aid we provide. The left hand is raised and extended, offering a grain of wheat, a symbol of sustenance, provision, and hope for a world in need. Together, our new logo and improved vision powerfully portray the three key components of our ministry. We believe this new identity will guide us into an even more successful future.
Stewardship
Jesus tells the parable of the shrewd steward, who, rather than hiding his talents out of laziness, invested them and reaped a profit well-received by his master. Laziness, greed and fear are powerful motivators toward wrongdoing, but Jesus honors those who work with intelligence, diligence, and purity.
We have provided you with the following information to reinforce our standard of excellence with regard to our financial stewardship, and also to share with you how we use our resources.
- Writing of the fiscal year ending June 30, 2004, the page stated that ninety-three cents of every dollar given went directly to the work of the ministry.
- Writing of the same fiscal year ending June 30, 2004, it stated that for every $1 donated, $13.31 was distributed in donated goods.
